Kelley Drye Client Advisory

On Friday, the Federal Communications Commission’s (“FCC’s” or Commission’s”) Office of Managing Director released a Public Notice extending the deadline to pay annual regulatory fees from 11:59 PM, September 26, 2017 to 11:59 PM, September 29, 2017.  The deadline extension applies to regulatees in all of Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as portions of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia.  The Public Notice states the Commission is mindful of the effect of hurricanes on entities in these areas and notes the significant damage the storms caused to communications networks, resulting in service disruptions and outages.
For all other regulatory fee payors (those not affected by the 2017 hurricanes), the previously announced payment window remains in effect.
