While the use of social media in the workplace can present risks to employers, the types of problems that can be created are not necessarily new. Despite claims that may involve employment and intellectual property issues or violations of laws banning unsolicited emails and faxes, the use of social media is widespread in the workplace.

This article examines why social media in the workplace is causing concerns to employers and analyses the legal and judicial landmine in this area.
