The biotechnology world is driven by regulations. Companies have compliance systems to deal with FDA, USDA, CDC, HHS, and multiple other agency regulations for the handling and transfer of products and technology within the U.S. Yet few companies in the industry have the type of export control system they need to handle the risks that are presented by the materials they handle, the equipment they use, and the know-how they generate, export and share.
