Kelley Drye Provides Community Service with Volunteer Center of Southwestern Fairfield County

Kelley Drye’s Stamford office proudly continues an active relationship with The Volunteer Center of Southwestern Fairfield County.

The Volunteer Center serves nonprofit organizations by coordinating the talents and resources of employers and individuals, who contribute time and effort to charitable and nonprofit programs. The center focuses on building the capacity of nonprofit organizations and enhancing the quality of life in the local community.

Kelley Drye’s representative in The Volunteer Center’s Workplace Volunteer Council coordinates the firm’s participation in various programs.

Every year Kelley Drye participates in the following annual programs:
  • Thanksgiving holiday donation drive to provide new pajamas and books to children and youth in need;

  • Summer reading partners, in which every week Kelley Drye personnel spend their lunch hour reading one-on-one to children at a local day camp; and

  • The business-to-books program, in which Kelley Drye personnel visit kindergarten classrooms to read stories to children and talk about their jobs.

Most recently, Kelley Drye’s Stamford office raised money and purchased items to provide two elementary school students in financial need with new clothes, backpacks and classroom supplies for the back-to-school season.

Through the Volunteer Center programs, the Kelley Drye’s Stamford office employees receive opportunities to give back to and become engaged with the community. The donation drives for clothing, books, and school supplies offer opportunities to assist younger members of the local community. The reading programs help forge personal connections between the Stamford schools and the business community.
