Kelley Drye Pro Bono Team Files Amicus Brief in Texas Sixth Amendment Case

Kelley Drye attorneys partnered with the Pretrial Justice Institute, Texas Appleseed, and National Association for Public Defenders to file an amicus brief supporting the Sixth Amendment right to counsel at an initial bail determination hearing in Galveston County.  The Kelley Drye team worked under a tight deadline to ensure the amici’s voices were heard on this fundamental issue of grave constitutional importance. The case Aaron Booth v. Galveston County et. al., Cause No. 19-40785 is currently pending in the Fifth Circuit.
