Michael S. Kosmas Joins Kelley Drye as Special Counsel in the D.C. Business Group

Kelley Drye & Warren LLP is pleased to announce that Michael S. Kosmas has joined the firm as a special counsel, working in the Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Kosmas will be a part of the firm’s D.C. business group, working across several practice areas including global hospitality and leisure, regional real estate, and national/local government affairs.

Mr. Kosmas, a seasoned business transactions lawyer, has represented some of the world’s largest players in the hospitality industry in a wide variety of real estate transactions ranging from acquisitions to dispositions and the development and financing of hotels and resorts. Most recently, Mr. Kosmas served as a partner and co-chair of the global hospitality/leisure practice at Gallop, Johnson & Neuman, L.C., where he counseled a diverse international and domestic client base including hotel brands, owners and operators, and private equity funds and developers.

With more than a decade of industry experience, Mr. Kosmas has particular expertise in drafting and negotiating complex management agreements between hotel owners and operators. He has represented over 300 hotel and resort properties around the globe and is frequently called on by clients to structure some of the most challenging transactions between hotel owners, operators and developers.  Mr. Kosmas is a regular guest speaker at industry conferences around the world such as the Americas Lodging Investment Summit, the NYU Hospitality Conference, and the European Hotel Investment Conference.
