Kelley Drye has been retained as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Dickinson Theatres, Inc.  Based in Overland Park, Kansas, Dickinson Theatres operates 18 movie theatres with 210 screens across 7 states throughout Mid-America.

Dickinson Theatres filed a petition under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code on September 21, 2012 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas.  At its first meeting on October 4, 2012, the six-member Committee selected Kelley Drye as its bankruptcy counsel.

Dickinson Theatres entered chapter 11 to reject certain burdensome executory contracts and unexpired leases with the intention of reorganizing its operations and exiting bankruptcy before the end of 2012.  Kelley Drye is working with Dickinson Theatres and its secured lenders to negotiate modifications to Dickinson Theatres’ proposed plan of reorganization to maximize value for unsecured creditors.

The Kelley Drye team is led by partner Eric R. Wilson and includes associate Jennifer D. Raviele.
