Kelley Drye secured a unanimous jury verdict on behalf of client Nine West Group Inc., in a life insurance dispute brought by the assignee of the estate of shoe designer Enzo Angiolini.
The plaintiff claimed that Enzo Angiolini had been a Division Vice President of Nine West and as such, was entitled to additional life insurance pursuant to Nine West’s Executive Welfare Plan. Nine West contended that, although a designer, Enzo Angiolini had never held that position nor had he applied for the additional life insurance benefits through Nine West’s independent insurance carrier.
After a three-day trial in Supreme Court New York County, the jury unanimously returned a verdict in Nine West’s favor following a 90-minute deliberation.
