David E. Fink, Lee S. Brenner and Sarah L. Cronin were featured in UC Hastings Magazine’s article “Tenderloin to Tinseltown,” highlighting the well-preparedness of Kelley Drye attorneys who graduate from UC Hastings Law School. Of the 17 attorneys in Kelley Drye’s Los Angeles office, four are UC Hastings alumni. “I always know when we hire from UC Hastings, we’re going to get a good, well-rounded lawyer,” said Mr. Brenner. “They have a lack of fear for doing work they’ve never done before.”
This fearlessness has led to numerous wins for the LA office, including successfully representing Roseanne Barr in an invasion of privacy case, defending Steven Spielberg and Paramount in a copyright infringement case and representing Elizabeth Taylor’s estate in a case concerning Taylor’s Taj Mahal diamond necklace.
“UC Hastings graduates enter the workforce ready to handle intense cases because they are well-prepared for life after law school,” said Mr. Fink. “The school’s focus on community service – primarily through its extensive clinical offerings – gives students real world legal experience.”
Ms. Cronin was recruited to Kelley Drye by Mr. Fink.
Ms. Cronin added that one of the highlights of the university was its location. “The school’s ‘real-world’ ethos was enhanced further by virtue of being located in San Francisco,” she said. “The proximity to the courts was a great preparation for a career as a litigator.”
