The Deal.com reviewed Christine Varney's team of litigators. President Barack Obama recently nominated Ms. Varney to be assistant attorney general for antitrust at the United States Department of Justice.
Partner Richard E. Donovan commented on Molly Boast, a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, who headed the FTC's competition bureau under the Clinton administration.
"'Molly comes at antitrust from a litigator's point of view,' said Richard Donovan, a partner and litigator at Kelley Drye &Warren LLP, who worked with Boast as part of a joint defense effort.
He said Boast was highly respected, and as a result was able to keep a group of lawyers representing disparate clients focused and on track in what turned out to be a successful strategy, 'skills that will serve her well at DOJ.'"
