Partner Robert L. Haig was quoted in The Daily Record article, "Law Firms Looking for Alternatives to the Billable Hour."
The article discussed the creative options law firms are using in their billing methods in order to stay competitive in this economy such as "holdbacks, blended rates, reverse contingency fees, phased billing and frozen rates."
"'It's pretty hard to estimate the entire cost of a lawsuit from beginning to end,' said Robert L. Haig, a partner with the New York-based firm Kelley, Drye & Warren LLP. 'It is somewhat easier to estimate amounts for phases of a lawsuit… [I] make a point of discussing alternative billing with clients,' he said."
