The cover story of the November issue of The American Lawyer focused on the legal
landscape in India, highlighting Kelley Drye’s India practice, headed by Partner Talat
Ansari, as a good example of how international firms can successfully tap into the India legal market despite stringent
regulations which prohibit foreign firms from opening offices in India. The article
discusses the various ways in which western firms have built thriving India practices,
mainly representing European and American investors in energy, capital markets, M&A
and outsourcing deals.
