Partner Thomas Cohen was quoted in an article titled ​“Broadband Stimulus Hopefuls Get Application Advice: Hurry,” which was published in Telephony Online and Communications Direct. The article discussed the requirements and guidelines governing the dissemination of the federal government’s $7.2-billion broadband stimulus package.

In the article, Mr. Cohen advised that applicants should acknowledge that the Administration wants to distribute the funding as soon as possible to experienced recipients. All funds must be awarded by September 30, 2010, including at least one award in each state. According to Mr. Cohen, funds are likely to be awarded in three tranches, ​“in the fall, winter and next spring. Applications for the first tranche will probably begin pouring in early this summer, since it will take some time to rank them and pick recipients.”
