February 16, 2012

TR Daily referenced Kelley Drye & Warren in the article, “FTC Eyeing Further Kids App Report,” which discusses the FTC staff report, “Mobile Apps for Kids: Current Privacy Disclosures Are Disappointing,” released February 16. The article quotes Jessica Rich, associate director of the FTC’s Division of Financial Practices, who spoke at Kelley Drye’s seminar, “Privacy in 2012: What to Watch Regarding COPPA, Mobile Apps, and Evolving Law Enforcement and Public Policy Trends.” She indicated that in the next six months the agency is going to look more closely at what data is actually being collected about children. Ms. Rich participated on a panel with Michael Altschul, senior vice president and general counsel at CTIA, and Jennifer Tatel, Associate General Counsel at the FCC.
