In the article, "POM Wonderful Responds to FTC Ruling with New Ad Campaign," Response Magazine reported that a judge ruled that POM Wonderful lacked competent and reliable evidence for its health benefit claims. The judge ordered POM Wonderful to stop advertising that its product reduces the risks of heart disease, prostate cancer and erectile dysfunction. The juice maker responded with a new ad campaign using selective quotes from the judge's ruling, and continued to tout health benefits of its product. The article noted, "Many industry insiders have questioned POM Wonderful's latest moves" and quoted partner August T. Horvath who described POM's response as "ill-advised."
