Partner Robert L. Haig Authors Tribute to Commercial and Federal Litigation Section in NYLitigator

NYLitigator published an article by partner Robert L. Haig titled Productivity, Accomplishments, Collegiality—and Fun.” The article was written as one of the five tributes” to the 20th Anniversary of the State Bar’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, which Mr. Haig founded in 1988. The article highlighted the Section’s accomplishments such as establishing the framework for the modern business court in the United States, eliminating occupational exemptions for jurors, and providing fellowship funding for minority law students to work in litigation positions in the public sector.

In addition, the NYLitigator published remarks made by United States District Judge Kevin T. Duffy during his presentation of the 2008 Robert L. Haig Award for Distinguished Public Service to United States District Judge P. Kevin Castel on May 3, 2008, as well as Judge Castel’s acceptance remarks. The State Bar named this Award after Mr. Haig in 1995, and has presented it in his name each year since then. On May 2, 2009, the 2009 Award was presented by Chief Judge of the State of New York Jonathan Lippman to the former Chief Judge, Judith S. Kaye.
