Partner Kathy Cannon Quoted in Law360 Article On U.S. Commerce Duties on Filing Cabinets from China

Partner Kathleen Cannon was quoted in the Law360 article, US Slams Chinese Filing Cabinets With Stiff New Duties.”  The article reports that the U.S. Commerce Department ruled that Chinese filing cabinet imports to the U.S. have been unfairly subsidized and sold at artificially low prices.  Kathy, who represents the domestic manufacturer Hirsh Industries, told Law360  We are happy to see the agency recognize the high levels of dumping and subsidies the domestic industry was facing and hoping that relief is provided soon to this badly injured industry.” Kathy is joined in this case by Kelley Drye international trade partner, Brooke M. Ringel and associate Josh Morey.

The case will now move to the U.S. International Trade Commission, which will only allow the duties to take effect if it determines that the imports are injuring or threatening U.S. production. The ITC is slated to hold its final injury vote on Nov. 21.
