article on the U.S. Government’s visa crackdown on Chinese researchers and scientists in the United States. The government, which has filed charges against several Chinese nationals who it claims have engaged in nefarious behavior and espionage, came under fire recently after a federal judge tossed a case which painted one such scientist as a foreign spy with no evidence to back the claim. Commenting on the decision, Jaimie explained that introducing allegations of suspicious conduct that go beyond the initial charges is acceptable when there is evidence that supports the claims, but “really, what you’re doing without that is just character assassination,” she noted.
