article “Lawyer Who Was Said to Have Dirt on Clinton Had Closer Ties to Kremlin Than She Let On.” The article examines Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya’s ties to the Russian government and details previously undisclosed coordination with the Kremlin on a civil money-laundering case against real estate firm Prevezon Holdings Ltd. and its owner, Denis P. Katsyv. Veselnitskaya is best known for arranging a secret meeting with top Trump campaign officials in June 2016 on the premise of providing damaging information on Hillary Clinton.
Jaimie, a former Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, was a prosecutor in the Prevezon case and noted that Veselnitskaya’s involvement in the official Russian response to the Department of Justice “raises serious questions about obstruction of justice and false statements… It’s completely outrageous.” She noted that Veselnitskaya may have misrepresented herself as an attorney in private practice and that her actions should be referred to the United States Attorney’s Office for investigation.
