But Against Whom?,” an analysis of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s agreement to allow former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s to plead guilty to a single count of lying to the FBI over his contacts with Russia’s U.S. ambassador. Flynn pled guilty on December 1 as part of an ongoing investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.
“Mueller doesn’t want to give a road map to the other charges that may be out there,” Jaimie said. She added that if Mueller had charged Flynn with a more substantial offense or a certain type of conspiracy, “that would fuel speculation about who’s next, who’s in Mueller’s orbit and what might be coming next.”
