Castello was mentioned as counsel to Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc. on the front page of a New York Law Journal article “Panel Upholds $1.6 Million Judgment against TV Host.” The article reports on a recent decision of the New York Appellate Division affirming the trial court’s $1.6 million judgment in favor of Sotheby’s against television personality and advertising executive, Donny Deutsch, who failed to pay a commission on the $30 million sale of his East Hampton property in 2011. The panel’s decision stated that “we find no basis to disturb the trial court’s findings, based largely on credibility determinations, that there was an express agreement or at least an implied agreement to pay plaintiff a commission of 4 percent.”
