National Law Journal Quotes Mark Konkel Over Controversial Overtime Regulations

Partner Mark Konkel was quoted in National Law Journal​’s article ​“Chipotle Workers Sue for Overtime, Testing Scope of Obama-Era Rule” discussing the controversy of workers’ eligibility for overtime pay, despite a new federal rule enforced by the U.S Department of Labor which has temporarily hindered overtime regulations for thousands of workers.

Mark believes that many companies will not implement overtime policies until they are legally required to. ​“Payroll was about to massively increase for companies. Now that regulation has been blocked,” said Mark. ​“But I would not be surprised if some of those companies still feel a social pressure to address overtime. They exist in an economy where there is upward wage pressure.”
