Partner Miles Cooley was featured in a recent Sacramento Bee article discussing his mission to advocate on behalf of California foster children. Cooley had a different upbringing than most, rotating through foster homes since the age of five.
Miles uses his background in law, coupled with his experience, to focus on helping children of troubled mothers. In 2010, he lobbied for a bill backed by the former Senate president pro tem, requiring the state to care for foster kids until they turn 21.
Since then, he has continued to share his story and work with legislators to make progress for foster children. “We need the legislators to understand that this is a priority for the people of the state,” said Miles.
