Special Counsel Wayne J. D'Angelo was quoted in the Law360 article "Key Cases To Watch In State-Local Fracking Battles." The article discusses the battle being waged among federal agencies, state governments and local municipalities over regulating the use of hydraulic fracturing to drill for oil and gas. These disputes differ across state lines, with important cases that will affect future industry development currently in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and Chicago, yet they all contain issues around home rule and local concerns for the environment, water and land use. Mr. D'Angelo explains, "It's definitely a two-front war. The municipal tug-of-war has been a bit overlooked, but probably not by that states and by industry... To be sure, states are looking to other states as to how they resolve their preemption issues."
