Partner David H. Evans was quoted in the Law360 article “3 Takeaways From Comcast's Failed Bid For TWC.” The article outlines the failure of Comcast Corp.'s $45 billion bid for Time Warner Cable Inc. and what it means for the industry. Mr. Evans commented on several issues, including that the lack of local head-to-head competition between the two companies did not stave off the agencies. “In the past ... that type of argument probably would have carried the day. [The agencies] would have allowed the merger to go through because they looked at competition in these local markets,” he said. “I think what you're seeing now with Comcast-Time Warner is the AT&T-T-Mobile analysis is not at the margins. The national market is now a significant theory that has a lot of traction."
