Associate Christopher M. Loeffler was quoted in the Law360 article, "FTC Finds New Targets For Fair Credit Actions." The article discusses how the Federal Trade Commission broadened its authority under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), extending the law to data brokers that share rental histories with landlords and others that track retail employees accused of theft. Mr. Loeffler said, "In the past few years, we've seen the FTC's enforcement of the FCRA evolve to include companies that, at first blush, would seem to fall outside the traditional concept of 'consumer reporting agency.' The way in which people communicate and interact with businesses and the public has transitioned to include new channels and vehicles, and the FTC's enforcement of the FCRA has followed that path."
