Law360 Mentions Kelley Drye as Counsel to IMG in Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Partner Michael C. Lynch and senior associate Jaclyn M. Metzinger were mentioned as counsel to IMG Productions in a lawsuit, which accuses IMG and Viacom of copyright infringement for using an idea allegedly created by Nick Katsoris, general counsel of Red Apple Group and author of Loukoumi the Lamb,” for a new Nickelodeon show I Wanna Be,” starring NFL quarterback Cam Newton, a client of IMG’s, which will help kids achieve their dreams. Mr. Katsoris claimed the show is derived from his idea about children turning their dreams into reality. IMG and Viacom have both filed motions to dismiss the suit, saying the concept is too common to be copyrighted.
