Partner Christie Grymes Thompson was quoted in the Law360 article “Consumer Protection Cases To Watch In 2016.” The article features several cases that consumer protection attorneys will be following in 2016. Ms. Thompson was quoted on Spokeo Inc. v Robins, a case which has broad implications for establishing standing under statutes like the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). “It really goes to questions of injury and what constitutes sufficient injury or harm under the FCRA,” she said. “Companies routinely use information reported under the FCRA ... it could certainly direct how companies rely on that information, or in some cases provide that information to the credit reporting agencies.”
