Special Counsel Laura Rabinowitz
was quoted in the Home & Textiles Today
article “Tariffs: Industry groups hopeful on Trump/Xi pause.” The article addresses the agreement between the U.S. and China to pause escalations for 90 days to resolve trade issues. The 90-day break means that tariffs currently levied at 10% will not rise to 25% on January 1, 2019 and the administration’s Tariffs Section 301 List 4 is on hold. If the U.S. and China fail to work out an arrangement during the negotiation period, which is set to conclude around March 1, the tariffs will rise to 25%.
“[Textiles] companies really have to think long-term,” Said Laura. “We’re really in for the long haul with these trade tools.”
