Fox Chicago News Interviews Partner Julian Solotorovsky on Blagojevich Verdict

Partner Julian Solotorovsky, a former Chicago federal prosecutor, was a guest on Fox Chicago News to comment on the trial of Rod Blagojevich. Mr. Solotorovsky said the verdict was a huge blow to the government. When asked how the prosecutors erred, he said the 113 page, 24 count indictment was too complicated. The former governor of Illinois was convicted of one short, simple, straight forward charge, lying to federal investigators.

Mr. Solotorovsky said the first two counts of racketeering were complex and prosecutors should evaluate whether they should sacrifice those charges to simplify the case.

He felt the government has no choice but to re-try Mr. Blagojevich.
