Partner Kate Visosky was interviewed by Corporate Counsel in the article “Use of Noncompete Clauses Grows Even as More States Move to Limit Them,” discussing ways employers can protect confidential information without non-compete clauses, such as developing nondisclosure agreements that are tailored to the company, the industry and the specific employee or independent contractor.
"It's also important for employers with national operations to know where their operations are and what protections they have within each jurisdiction," said Kate. "We advise clients to have a different agreement for California employees than for, say, employees in New Jersey, which allows non-competes and has broader protections for employers."
