The Connecticut Law Tribune article, "A Familiar Face at the Top" noted a "veteran Stamford attorney" is taking the lead role at Kelley Drye. The article covered partner Paul McCurdy's appointment to chair of the firm. Mr. McCurdy described how with managing partner, James J. Kirk, he is visiting partners in the other offices, working hard to sharpen the focus and responsiveness to clients.
Mr. McCurdy described the firm's recent growth, including its merger with the L.A. firm, White O'Connor Fink & Brenner, its hiring of lateral partners, partnership promotions within the firm, and firm's expanding its intellectual property, litigation, corporate and India practices. “"We’re in a growth mode to the extent that it makes strategic sense to grow,' McCurdy said. 'We are looking for opportunities not to grow just for the sake of getting bigger, but to make us better.'"
Mr. McCurdy praised partner John M. Callagy's stewardship, who was the firm chair for the past 20 years, and continues to serve on the executive committee.
Mr. McCurdy also discussed his work in the Broker-Dealer practice, which he continues to chair. He noted the firm will grow to provide better, more efficient services for its clients, while becoming stronger--furthering a "win-win" situation.
