Barbara Hoey Quoted in Law360 Article on House Age Bias Bill

Partner Barbara Hoey was quoted in a recent Law360 article on The Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act, which would amend civil rights laws to treat age-related employment claims the same as complaints related to race, gender, and other categories protected by separate statutes.

On top of lowering the burden of proof for age discrimination cases, the fact that the bill also allows retaliation cases to move forward on the lighter, mixed-motive test, clears away a hurdle to filing suit for one of the most common discrimination claims, Hoey said.
