In an E-Commerce Law & Policy
article titled "Positive Reception for US Advertising ‘Opt Out' Option," associate Chris Loeffler
was quoted. The article discussed the positive response from the online advertising market to the ‘opt out' option introduced by the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA). The option aims to give web users in the U.S. more control over the collection and use of their data and offers the possibility to opt out of online behavioral advertising.
"[The opt-out option] provides a good opportunity for consumers who prefer their data not be collected and used for behavioral advertising, while permitting the online advertising industry to continue operations without upending most business practices," said Chris.
