Partner David Hartquist
was quoted in the American Metal Market
article, "Rate of U.S. stainless steel industry recovery key to duties debate." The article discussed the rate at which the United States stainless industry is recovering since the recession and the detrimental effect the removal of import duties on foreign manufacturers could have on the U.S. market should the International Trade Commission (ITC) choose to not renew current regulations.
David said that, "the recent years for the domestic stainless steel industry have been bleak" and that an increase in imports could further erode the already low operating profit margins from 2010. "Foreign producers have unused capacity and are looking to export," David warned.
