Michael S. Insel, a partner in the firm’s Private Clients practice, passed away on May 5, 2017. Mike joined Kelley Drye as an associate in 1973 and was named partner in 1982.
Mike was a mentor and friend to many at the firm. He loved his work and was admired for his intelligence, honesty, integrity and enthusiasm. Mike was a respected Trusts and Estates attorney and a trusted business advisor. He served on the board of directors of Kobrand Corporation and as president of French-American Vintners. It was Mike’s great privilege to serve on the board of Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey for 22 years until he retired as chairman in 2015.
Mike was a member of the New York and Florida Bars. In 1973, he received a J.D. from New York University School of Law. In 1969, he graduated from Duke University with an A.B. He was recognized as a leading Trusts and Estates lawyer in The Best Lawyers in America and New York Super Lawyers.
