Kelley Drye Named Diversity & Inclusion Leader by Lawyers of Color

Kelley Drye has been recognized as one of the 2019 Diversity & Inclusion leaders by Lawyers of Color, a non-profit devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities.  This recognition is given to law firms that demonstrate a commitment to hiring and retaining racially diverse attorneys, particularly those whose percentage of African American attorneys exceed the average.  Recognitions are based on data collected in the Black Student’s Guide to Law Schools & Firms, the first ever comprehensive listing of black attorney percentages at nearly 400 law firms, including the nation’s largest firms.
At Kelley Drye, diversity and inclusion are core values, expressed in our approach to recruiting lawyers and staff and to creating a workplace where all members are safe, respected and valued.  Our commitment extends to community involvement, and to assembling client teams that draw upon our lawyers’ diverse perspectives and experiences.  As part of these efforts, in 2019 we launched our Diversity Scholarship, which provides a $25,000 award to an outstanding second-year law student and includes a paid summer associate position following the second year of law school.
