On November 17, 2011, partner John E. Villafranco spoke at the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law Fall Forum in Washington, DC. Mr. Villafranco moderated the session, Working with the FTC and CFPB.” The session discussed the dramatic change in consumer protection in the United States with the creation of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Panelists discussed the stated priorities at the FTC and CFPB and what the priorities should be, as well as how these agencies will engage the various industries in enforcement and policymaking and how they will coordinate efforts.
