Women At KDW Hosts 2nd Annual Evening of Giving

May 5, 2011

On May 5, 2011, Women At KDW hosted their second annual charity event in celebration of Mother’s Day. This year Chicago and D.C. joined the New York office in hosting this event, which provided wish-list items to organizations that support women in need.

In the New York office, women partners and associates from New York and New Jersey assembled gift bags for the Women’s Health and Counseling Center, a New Jersey based nonprofit organization that provides health care, crisis care, counseling, and support programs, as well as education and outreach programs, to women regardless of their income. In addition to the items contributed by the firm, Bespoke Chocolates donated chocolate gifts for the bags, and additional health and beauty items were donated by L’Oreal. The event was organized by associate Jaclyn M. Metzinger.

In the D.C. office, women partners, associates and professional staff gathered to assemble gift bags for My Sister’s Place, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering victims of domestic violence. The organization provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, education and advocacy for battered women and their children. The D.C. office event was organized by associate Kristi L. Wolff.

The Chicago office assembled gift bags for Mary Lou’s Place, a domestic violence shelter that provides women and their children with basic needs, such as food and shelter, as well as counseling sessions and workshops, with the goal of enabling residents to achieve self-sufficiency. The Chicago office event was organized by associate Catherine E. James.
