Partner Laurence J. Lasoff spoke at a Global Business Dialogue event, titled, “Trade and the Stimulus Bill: A Discussion of the Buy National Provisions of H.R. 1” on February 5, 2009. Focusing on the international trade aspects of the stimulus bill that passed the House of Representatives on January 28, 2009, the event covered the Buy America provision and its potential impacts in detail. Mr. Lasoff appeared in a panel discussion with Scott Paul, from the Alliance for American Manufacturing, Calman Cohen, from the Emergency Committee for American Trade, and Willard M. Berry with the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones, and Jeffrey J. Schott, from the Peterson Institute for International Economics. The event was held in the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
