Telecommunications Partner Steven A. Augustino was a featured speaker at the Casual Games Association’s 2007 Conference in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Augustino presented a session on politics and gaming that provided an overview of political issues affecting the video game industry as a whole. The session provided an in-depth discussion of the current laws that attempt to restrict the sale or distribution of “violent” video games, the status of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, and proposals to require “net neutrality” in a broadband Internet world. Particular attention was paid to the impact of these regulations on the casual game industry.
