Hutnik spoke on a panel for the Federal Communications Bar Association Privacy and Data Security and Wireless Committee CLE Seminar, Privacy and Mobile Location-Based Services: Where Are We?” In the panel, How Current Laws and Regulations Apply to Mobile LBS,” Ms. Hutnik discussed the collection of sensitive information by location-based services, focusing on the privacy risks for carriers, handset and operating system manufacturers, and apps developers in this field. The panel explored how LBS-related privacy concerns have been and are being addressed under current statutes, regulations, case law and self-regulatory frameworks.
