On June 13, 2014 partner Sarah Roller spoke at American Conference Institute’s 9th National Forum on Import Compliance and Enforcement in Washington, D.C. Ms. Roller’s session, “Food Imports – Deciphering FSMA’s Foreign Supplier Verification and Voluntary Qualified Importer Programs and What it Means for Your Business,” provided an overview of the pre-FSMA provisions of the Federal Food Drug & Cosmetic Act governing food imports and how FSMA is changing the legal landscape for domestic companies that rely on foreign suppliers for food and food ingredient imports. Ms. Roller also explained the Foreign Supplier Verification Program and the Voluntary Qualified Importer Program and discussed some important enforcement considerations.
