On December 3, 2021, Kelley Drye partners David Hickey, chair of the Government Contracts practice and Mark Konkel, chair of the Labor and Employment practice presented on “Expanded Takeaways from Federal Contactor Vaccine Mandate” for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME.)

The presentation discussed President Biden’s Executive Order 14042, requiring federal contractors to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and the 14-page guidance issued on September 24 by the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, detailing the new obligations and responding to some frequently asked questions. Further, the presentation also reviewed important practical advice for employers on how to effectively handle vaccine accommodations and exemptions, employee privacy issues in connection with proof of vaccination, and continuing health and safety obligations for employers.
