Conversations Across Generations

On October 14, 2014, in a presentation entitled ​“Conversations across Generations,” Kelley Drye’s NY Office hosted Vivian Tseng, Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary at Welch Foods, Inc. and Marianela Peralta, Associate General Counsel, International Employment Section at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Against the backdrop of generational diversity, the presenters responded to a number of questions, including questions about their career paths, choices and priorities, management and communication styles, and the role of feedback in their career development. The panelists, as well as the audience, were asked to place themselves in each of the four generational groupings found in today’s workforce -Traditionalist, Boomer, Generation X, and Millennial - and the characteristics of each group, along with their defining cultural events, were shared. Following the presentation, Ms. Tseng and Ms. Peralta were hosted to lunch by NY Managing Partner Robert I. Steiner.
