Congressional Buy American Caucus Meeting

Partner Laurence J. Lasoff participated in the inaugural meeting of the Congressional Buy American Caucus on June 10, 2010, in Washington, D.C. The program was designed as a panel briefing featuring three respected voices on this issue,” who each gave a brief presentation on the current status of the Buy American Act and recent efforts to strengthen domestic procurement laws​.Mr. Lasoff presented on the importance of strengthening the Buy American Act and other domestic sourcing requirements to ensure that the U.S. manufacturing base remains strong and capable of providing jobs to American workers. Additionally, Mr. Lasoff discussed the need for ensuring that federal agencies charged with implementing existing trade laws do so in a way that effectuates, and does not undermine, their purpose.
