California International Law Center

April 11, 2013

On April 11, 2013 Mr. Rosenthal gave a talk at the California International Law Center, regarding efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child labor in foreign agriculture.  Mr. Rosenthal focused on his 12 years of experience working with the international cocoa and chocolate industry, the governments of the United States, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire, as well as international organizations and non-governmental entities.

Mr. Rosenthal addressed the particular challenges of dealing with child labor on family farms-as opposed to factories, and the complexities created by poverty, lack of infrastructure and lack of capacity by sovereign governments.
