On January 16, 2014 partner David E. Fink served as conference co-chair to the Entertainment and Media Law Conference, “Avatars, Apps and Aggregation: New Technologies Shake Up Media Law – Again,” held at the Los Angeles Times building in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Fink assembled a panel of new media experts to participate in the discussion, “App-Titude: Legal Issues on Apps That Matter.” The panel addressed the legal challenges mobile phone applications face, such as licensing, intellectual property concerns, as well as transactional issues and pitfalls.
The panel featured Bryony Gagan, Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs of Netflix, David S. Figatner, Assistant General Counsel of Microsoft Corporation, and Sheila Jambekar, Litigation Counsel of Zynga Inc. The panel was moderated by Jonathan H. Anschell, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of CBS Television.
