On July 24, 2013, associate Kristi Wolff spoke in an audio conference on "Advertising Claims Substantiation – Current Thinking from FTC and NAD." Kristi's presentation gave a step-by-step analysis of claim substantiation and practical tips for the overall substantiation process. Additionally, she explored what regulators look for between the evidence and the claim for health products, and she discussed the FTC's updated Green Guides with tips on what to watch out for when advertising environmental benefits. Kristi also discussed the position the FTC and NAD takes on "up to" claims and what the possible risks and benefits are of using these claims.
