Kelley Drye's Government Relations and Public Policy group presents a bipartisan assessment of the upcoming midterm elections. Our speakers will highlight the key House and Senate races across the country this fall, delivering a detailed and data-packed assessment of the current state of play and the prospects for control of both Chambers in the upcoming 112th Congress. In addition, they will offer their perspectives on some of this year's key Gubernatorial races, which are of increased significance given the reapportionment process ahead of the 2012 Congressional elections.

  • Greg Speed is Executive Director of America Votes and former Communications Director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Under Speed's leadership, America Votes coordinated over 62 million direct voter contacts in the 2008 election cycle. On Capitol Hill, Speed worked as press secretary and legislative aide to former U.S. Rep. Martin Frost (TX), and for IMPAC 2000, the Democratic leadership's redistricting project after the previous census.
  • Jim Ellis is a political analyst and senior consultant to the Performance Results International Strategic Management firm in the Washington, D.C. area. He is currently executive director of three national political action committees and is nationally recognized for his skills in advising, strategizing and evaluating campaigns. In a previous role as a leading political consultant to the Republican majority leadership of the House of Representatives, he built a strong reputation for accuracy in election race predictions. His current client base includes Fortune 100 corporations such as AT&T, UPS, and Wal-Mart, as well as lobbying organizations and trade associations, such as the National Association of Broadcasters and America's Health Insurance Plans.
